The water reservoir stores water to keep plant hydrated for a longer period. To avoid water spillage, this container does not have holes. Never let Xanthosoma sit in water or saturated soil. When shipped, it’s about 15-inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. Xanthosoma is generally a slow grower, depending on environment and care provided. Boost growth in spring and summer with a fertilizer labeled for potted plants following the products instructions. When Xanthosoma outgrows its current container, repot by gently removing it from its container and placing it in a 2-inch wider container. Fill with potting mix and water thoroughly. Hardy outdoors in USDA Zones 9-11. Exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact.
