The 10-year Battery Smoke Detector uses photoelectric sensor technology to detect visible fire particles associated with smoldering fires. New, 9th Edition sensor technology reduces false alarms often caused by cooking or shower steam, while internal components of the smoke alarm self-test to ensure that it’s always operating as expected. (Self-testing is not a substitute for a manual push test of the alarm. Perform a button test once per week to verify proper alarm operation.) The CO detector is powered by 2-AA alkaline batteries located in the back of the unit, providing easy installation & no wiring, plus coverage during a power failure. Simply install it on a wall or place it on a tabletop. When carbon monoxide is detected, an 85-decibel alarm will sound & a red LED will flash. A green LED Flashes every 30 seconds to indicate the unit is operating properly. The test-hush button allows you to test the battery operations as well as temporarily silence the low battery chirp warning.
